The Older People's Information Centre (TOPIC) is made possible by the support of the Welsh Assembly's Communities First programme via the Hill CDT Ltd as Communities First Partnership for Townhill. The City and County of Swansea supports the initiative in a variety of ways not least by looking after the property but also by line managing the staff team.

TOPIC aims to provide a range of services to older people in their own community. It is a vibrant, warm and welcoming drop-in centre which provides advice and information, classes, a luncheon club on Fridays, support for carers and all kinds of support in response to queries from the community.

TOPIC is run by a voluntary management committee of local older people with Terry O'Rily as Chairperson. The committee is supported by a small staff team led by senior officer Corliss Horton.
